Kyle Haas

Systems Engineer Kyle Haas has been with Mirazon for six years. After graduating from Bellarmine University and working as a food scientist, he realized his true passion was with technology. After consulting with small businesses independently for a few years, he joined the Mirazon team. Now Kyle spends his days administering Windows and virtualization environments and, on the odd and unfortunate occasion, slaying ransomware.

In his spare time, Kyle makes a mean fermented hot sauce (among other tasty adventures left over from his food scientist days). He also has a deep interest in the German language and culture and has lived abroad there.

Tech For Good: LouMUG Service Event At WaterStep

It’s that time of the year when we come together not just to explore the latest in Microsoft technologies but also to give back to our community. We are excited to announce an upcoming LouMUG event where we will be participating in a service event at WaterStep, focusing on sorting shoes for a great cause.

WaterStep is a local non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing clean and safe water to communities in need around the world. One of their initiatives is the Shoe Program, which collects and repurposes gently used shoes to fund water projects.

By participating in this event, we will be contributing to both environmental sustainability and humanitarian efforts.

What To Expect:

1. Shoe Sorting: We’ll be sorting and organizing donated shoes, which will be shipped to various parts of the world to be sold. The proceeds from these shoe sales go directly towards funding clean water projects.
2. Guest Speaker: We will have Pam Alaimo, the Development Coordinator from WaterStep, share insights into their mission and the impact of the Shoe Program.
3. Networking: This event provides a great opportunity to connect with fellow LouMUG members who share a passion for technology and community service.

On any given day, Brent may be designing highly available storage area networks for a prominent university and then pivoting to helping a coworker troubleshoot a printer problem at a small local firm – a day in the life of a Mirazon engineer is varied. In his spare time he enjoys woodworking, and he just finished building out a full library in his home office, complete with track lighting and a murphy bed.
